Citizen-divers removed lionfish from Akrotiri
September 22, 2019The “Marine and Environmental Research (MER) Lab” conducted the fourth bi-weekly ecological monitoring survey of 2019, in Cape Greco (on 10/09/19, 12/09/19 and 18/09/2019). The survey included fish counts (including lionfish) through “Underwater Visual Censuses (UVC)”. Photos of quadrats were taken, as well, to assesses data on organisms found there. Lionfish removals were performed in some of the areas examined.
