On 03/06/2020, ‘Marine & Environmental Research Lab’ met with the managers and staff of “Lighthouse Surf and Turf” in Limassol (http://lighthouse-cy.com/). After discussing the lionfish marketing strategy and the “RELIONMED” project and demonstrating the venomous spines and how to safely remove them, it was time to try out some dishes. These were: 1) Lemon grass lionfish, 2) Moroccan style, 3) Ceviche, 4) Sashimi and 5) Fried lionfish. The dishes were delicious, the chefs highly talented, the environment exceptional! The restaurant is now eager to partner with “RELIONMED” and participate in our market experiment. A lionfish special menu will be created and innovative and exceptional dishes will soon be available for consumption.
