The “RELIONMED-Life” project and the “IUCN MedMIS” portal were presented at an online seminar held on the 12th of January 2021. The event was hosted by the “Joint Research Centre (JRC)” and specifically by the EASIN (European Alien Species Information Network) unit. Dr. Konstantinos Tsiamis organised the event and Dr. Niki Chartosia from the “University of Cyprus”, as a partner of the “RELIONMED-Life” project, gave a presentation of the project. The seminar was very successful and more than 20 colleagues from JRC and RELIONMED participated.
Many interesting questions followed after the end of the presentation and a very fruitful discussion followed for the collaboration of EASIN with RELIONMED. Specifically, ideas and discussion on how to collaborate and share information and knowledge were shared, promoting the RELIONMED project, raising public awareness and enhancing citizen science actions. Furthermore, what could be done after the project’s completion to continue having a positive effect was another matter put on the table of discussion.
We would like to thank the “EASIN” staff for hosting the event and for the positive feedback on potential future collaboration and support. It has been an interesting and constructive meeting and event.
