“RELIONMED’s” impact on the ecosystem functions

The recording of fish fauna for the purposes of action D2 of the project has been completed by the members of “ENALIA PHYSIS – Environmental Research Centre”. This action aims to assess the impact of the project on the ecosystem functions. A total of four surveys were conducted. Surveys were implemented 15 days apart from each other (03/06/2020, 19/07/2020, 31/07/2020 and 13/08/2020). The recordings of the fish fauna were taken at the stations R1, R2 and R3 of the “Marine Protected Area” of Cape Greco, while a total of 30 lionfish were removed from the area as well. We would like to thank the four volunteers (Mr. Panayiotis Larkou, Mr. Vasilis Resaikos, Mrs. Magda Papatheodoulou and Mr. Antonis Petrou) who assisted during the surveys.
