5 Φεβρουαρίου, 2020On Sunday morning February 2nd, 30 divers and 2 free divers braved the wintery cold sea of Cape Grecko to participate on the 3rd removal derby. In 12 teams they succeeded in removing 129 lionfish!! Most lionfish removed by a team of 2 diver was 34 who also succeeded in capturing the smallest, 10cm and only 4g. Biggest lionfish removed during the derby was 39cm and 844g!
The competition was concluded with all divers enjoying a hot cup of lionfish soup and lionfish in pitta prepared by our chef George Xanthou. The delicious lionfish were accompanied by beer kindly provided by Octo Microbrewery.
