June 26, 2021A lionfish removal event for dissemination purposes was organised and conducted by the “ENALIA PHYSIS – Environmental Research Centre” in cooperation with the “Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI)”. During the event, on the 22nd of June 2021, two divers removed a total of six lionfish from the Cape Greco area. Removing lionfish from Cyprus marine waters helps to control the populations of the species in the region.
